About the book club:
Our bookclub began in 2007 with twelve members. We currently have 13 members (9 original members still remain) and I must say these women love to read and love meeting the authors who write those awesome stories. To date we have hosted over a hundred plus authors. We have won several book club awards while attending the Essence Bayou Soul Readers Conference (New Orleans, LA), National Book Club Conference (Atlanta, GA), Black Readers & Writers Literary Festival (Memphis, TN Awards include Bookclub of the year, Most authors hosted, most community service, Most Books Read, First Place Essay contest (Why my Book Club is important to me).
